Walt Disney Co. said Tuesday its fiscal third-quarter profit rose 24% on improved results at its theme parks and box-office results from the Marvel action feature "The Avengers."
The company said it earned $1.83 billion, or $1.01 a share, compared with a profit of $1.48 billion, or 77 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier
Revenue rose to $11.09 billion from $10.68 billion
Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting a profit of 93 cents a share on revenue of $11.32 billion.
