Spanish inflation accelerates in June

Spanish inflation accelerated in June, largely due to higher prices for fuels and lubricants, official data showed Thursday
In its initial estimate for the month, the National Statistics Institute, or INE, said Spain's European Union-harmonized consumer price index rose at an annual rate of 2.2% compared with 1.8% in May
The European Central Bank aims to keep annual inflation in the euro zone below, but close to 2% over the medium term
By Spain's own methodology, the CPI index rose 2.1% in June, compared with a rise of 1.7% in May
