Boeing: Asia-Pacific will drive air-traffic growth

By MarketWatch
SINGAPORE
Airlines in the Asia Pacific will need 12,820 new airplanes valued at $1.9 trillion over the next 20 years, a forecast by Boeing Co. showed
The Asian-Pacific region will account for 36% of global aircraft deliveries over the next two decades, with three fourths of the new planes aimed at boosting capacity, Boeing's Vice President for marketing, Randy Tinseth, said in Singapore
Nearly half the world's air-traffic growth will be driven by the Asia Pacific and the region's airlines will nearly triple their fleet to 14,750 jets by 2032 from 5,090 in 2012
Single-aisle jets that typically carry about 160 passengers will be driving the bulk of new jet orders, Mr. Tinseth said
