Eurozone Aug. Sentix Investor Confidence Strengthens
(RTTNews) - Eurozone investor confidence rose sharply to 8.5 in August from a negative 1.3 in July, a survey published by the Sentix research group showed Monday. The expected reading was 1.6.
Among the sub-indexes of the headline investor confidence index, a measure for current economic situation climbed significantly to 16.5 from July's reading of 2. The expectations index, at the same time, came in at 0.75 in August compared to negative 4.5 in the previous month.
A survey conducted by the Centre for European Economic Research, or ZEW, showed a decline in economic expectations for the euro area in July. Meanwhile, the indicator measuring the current economic situation improved from the prior month.
